Their breast cancer diagnoses came at very different phases of their young lives. Patti was 24, single, and forging her way in the corporate world. Jana was planning her wedding at age 27, and bravely walked down the aisle wearing a wig and breast prosthesis. Jennifer, also 27, was five months pregnant when she was diagnosed, and endured surgery and chemotherapy during the pregnancy. Kim found her lump at age 30 while planning her son's second birthday party, and faced the issues of raising a toddler while she underwent treatment.

With each book sold, we are donating a portion of our net proceeds to various non-profit breast cancer organizations. Last year we made donations to the American Cancer Society breast cancer programs, the Ribbons of Pink Foundation Fund, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Young Survival Coalition.
Please remember to follow the three steps to early detection:
1) Annual mammography beginning at age forty.
2) Clinical breast examinations (a breast exam by your physician) at least every three years beginning at age twenty and annually after age forty.
3) Monthly breast self-examination beginning by age twenty.
